This summer movie audiences met a new Superman. And in 2015, that Superman will meet Batman In the final moments of Saturday morning's Warner Bros/Legendary panel at Comic-Con, moderator Chris Hardwick had Man of Steel director Zack Snyder and star Henry Cavill on stage. Snyder announced, “It’s official that we are going to make another Superman movie. I’ve poured through the DC universe for a way to tell this thing.” With that, Man of Steel actor Harry Lennix joined the stage to read what turned out to be the big reveal. "I want you to remember, Clark, in all the years to come, in all your most private moments, I want you to remember my hand at your throat. I want you to remember the one man who beat you." Following that passage from Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns, the screen behind the stage changed to illuminate a graphic showing the Superman symbol positioned with the Batman logo. Snyder was careful to say that they weren't adapting Miller's 1986 miniseries, but said the Dark Knight Returns passage will help "tell you something" about the upcoming film. Quickly following the panel, Warner Bros. sent out a press release that solidified details but also left some mysteries for this Man of Steel follow-up. As far as casting goes, Cavill will be joined by returning castmates Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane; although Lennix appeared at this panel, nothing has been said about his continuing role in the franchise. Also coming back from the first Man of Steel is the screenwriter David S. Goyer with Snyder co-writing. Christopher Nolan and Emma Thomas will be in as executive producers, but also adding Benjamin Melniker and Michael E. Uslan from The Dark Knight trilogy. “I’m so excited to begin working again with Henry Cavill in the world we created, and I can’t wait to expand the DC Universe in this next chapter," Snyder said in a press release. "Let’s face it, it’s beyond mythological to have Superman and our new Batman facing off, since they are the greatest Super Heroes in the world." "Superman and Batman together on the big screen is a dream come true for DC fans everywhere. All of us at DC Entertainment could not be more excited for Zack’s continuing vision for the DC Universe," added Diane Nelson, president, DC Entertainment, also in the press release.

GODZILLA

The film retells the origin of Godzilla in contemporary times as a "terrifying force of nature". Elizabeth Olsen will play Aaron Johnson's girlfriend and Bryan Cranston will play his step-father. The film will contain two new monsters in addition to Godzilla, and the plot revolves around the story of a young US Marine.

As humanity picks up the pieces, following the conclusion of Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Autobots and Decepticons have all but vanished from the face of the planet. However, a group of powerful, ingenious businessman and scientists attempt to learn from past Transformer incursions and push the boundaries of technology beyond what they can control – all while an ancient, powerful Transformer menace sets Earth in his crosshairs. The epic adventure and battle between good and evil, freedom and enslavement ensues.

Shia LaBeouf will not return for this film (Variety, 10-17-11). The fourth and fifth installments could be headed into production back-to-back (Variety, 10-17-11). Screenwriter Ehren Kruger is said to have an idea for the next installments that the studio is very interested in (Variety, 10-17-11). Michael Bay's first Transformers film was a box office sensation in 2007, opening at #1 and earning more than $700 million worldwide. His second installment Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen in 2009 grossed more than $830 million worldwide. In 2011, Transformers: Dark of the Moon was an even bigger hit worldwide, grossing more than a billion dollars to become the 5th highest grossing film of all time. To date, the franchise has earned more than $2.6 billion worldwide.

AVATAR 2 AND 3

There has been much speculation recently as to what James Cameron’s next film will be. Just last week the director himself suggested that he might be interested in the Cleopatra film which Anglelina Jolie is attached to. However, it seems Cameron has been toying with everybody (to sure up his negotiating position?). An official press release from Fox has confirmed that Cameron’s next projects will be Avatar 2 and Avatar 3, shot back to back and with planned release dates of December 2014 and 2015. Here’s what Fox Chairmen Jim Gianopulos and Tom Rothman had to say - “AVATAR is not only the highest grossing movie of all time, it is a created universe based on the singular imagination and daring of James Cameron, who also raised the consciousness of people worldwide to some of the greatest issues facing our planet…We had no higher priority, and can feel no greater joy, than enabling Jim to continue and expand his vision of the world of AVATAR. This is a great day in the history of our company, and we thank all of those who have made this possible.” And here’s what Cameron had to say - “It is a rare and remarkable opportunity when a filmmaker gets to build a fantasy world, and watch it grow, with the resources and partnership of a global media company. ‘Avatar’ was conceived as an epic work of fantasy – a world that audiences could visit, across all media platforms, and this moment marks the launch of the next phase of that world. With two new films on the drawing boards, my company and I are embarking on an epic journey with our partners at Fox. Our goal is to meet and exceed the global audience’s expectations for the richness of ‘Avatar’s’ visual world and the power of the storytelling. In the second and third films, which will be self contained stories that also fulfill a greater story arc, we will not back off the throttle of ‘Avatar’s’ visual and emotional horsepower, and will continue to explore its themes and characters, which touched the hearts of audiences in all cultures around the world. I’m looking forward to returning to Pandora, a world where our imaginations can run wild.” Cameron has previously indicated that Avatar 2 will take place in the oceans of Pandora, while Avatar 3 will see them journey to the moons of Pandora. Jake and Neytiri will remain the lead characters for both sequels.

TYRA BANKS IS REPRISING HER ROLE LIFE SIZE

"I have a meeting today to go over the script! I swear! I don't think it'll be out until probably 2015, but I'm guessing - it could be late 2014 or 2015. But it will be back - Life-Size will be back, better than ever [...] I can't [tell you anything] unfortunately... I'm under contract with Disney and I can't talk about it at all, except that it's coming. But it will be very different, very different. Very modern - a modern take." Tyra Banks confirming in a January 19, 2014 interview with Digital Spy, that a sequel to her 2000 movie Life-Size is currently in development. Rumors had been floating around about the possibility of a sequel since 2012, but nothing concrete had been confirmed until now. The original movie starred a much younger and drama-free Lindsay Lohan as a girl whose Barbie-like doll, Eve, played by Tyra Banks, come to life. It's not a film I've seen, so I'll defer commentary to those of you who have. No word on whether Lohan will return for the sequel as well.

1.22 Jump Street

Big, dumb cop (Channing Tatum) and squat, dorky cop (Jonah Hill) return to wreck more havoc. 21 Jump Street, a reboot of the TV show that made Johnny Depp's name, saw detectives Jenko and Schmidt pretend to be high school students in order to bust a drug ring. This time - in grand old comedy tradition - they're going to college.

2. DUMB AND DUMBERER Dumb fun 20 years on as Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels return to the roles that made them decapitate a canary, upset a sea bass and pee over each other - all in the name of laffs! The Farrelly Brothers are back ferrying this one through a plotline that sees Harry (Daniels) and Lloyd (Carrey) track down one of their children in order to get them to agree to a life-saving kidney transplant. Will be dumb, but surely, no dumber than Dumb and Dumberer.

3.EXPENDABLE 3 Sly Stone recruits a new generation of action heroes as his fearless band of hard-headed mercenaries is hunted down by their former ally, Conrad Stonebanks (Mel Gibson). The new blood includes such fresh names as Wesley Snipes, Antonio Banderas and Harrison Ford. There will be explosions and gunplay, fist fights and high kicks. Then aspirin, bed rest and many, many ice packs.

THE HUNGER GAMES CATCHING FIRE TRAILER

PLOT A year after winning the 74th Hunger Games, Katniss Everdeen and her partner, Peeta Mellark must go on what is known as the Victor's Tour wherein they visit all the districts. But before leaving, Katniss is visited by President Snow who fears that Katniss defied him a year ago during the games when she chose to die with Peta. With both Katniss and Peeta declared the winners, it is fueling a possible uprising. He tells Katniss that while on tour she better try to make sure that she puts out the flames or else everyone she cares about will be in danger. But unfortunately she fails to do that. So Snow decides to enact what is known as the Quarter Quell, the right to make a change to the Hunger Games, which he is allowed to do every 25 years. He decides to hold an edition of the Hunger Games wherein previous winners will compete again. Their mentor Haymitch thinks their best chance to survive is form an alliance with some of the others. They decide to align themselves with Finnick and his partner, Mags. But Snow is secretly hoping Katniss will be killed.
